Welcome to my home on the internet.
You're on the About page that describes what you can find on my site, how it works, and why I have a website at all.
This is the 5th reincarnation of my website over the past decade or so. I've converted to a workflow that works well for me where almost everything is a markdown note. Given that backing constraint, I wanted to build something that would take those and publish them. It seemed natural to organize things here the same way that I use them while working — i.e. a big flat list of markdown files with good search and minimal Tags .
To that end, my home page is a Timeline of all the things that you can find on this site. The timeline is ordered by creation date, but the notes are constantly being updated and my workflow is never final.
I have a fun (read: gratuitous) Graph visualization of all the content on my site. There's actual utility in this beyond looking cool. I use the graph visualization tool in my note editor for getting a feel of the structure of my notes. It helps me find what needs to be looked at more, what needs to be linked better, and things I've forgotten about.
Beyond the big list of things and the graph view of it, my notes fall roughly into a few broad categories. I write Blog posts that are more fully-baked, synthesized thoughts than individual notes. I also have a stream of consciousness Microblog tag that was mainly started as a replacement for twitter for reasons. The microblog regularly gathers Links from across the web, so there's a special tag for those entries.
There's a section that isn't fully managed through markdown for my Projects , though there are sometimes markdown write-ups for them. This section is the last to be converted from my previous site, so bear with me while that gets sorted out.
There's a Theme page that gives a good overview of the styling present across the site. It's mostly there as a dev tool for me, but I thought I would expose it for people to see.
Lastly, I have a Bio page with some more info about me as a person.
