Making a Fitbit Sense Watch Face

Time for a Better Watch

There are a lot of good first- and third-party watch faces out there for the Fitbit Sense, but none of them are exactly what I want.

Motivation

There are a lot of good first- and third-party watch faces out there for the Fitbit Sense, but none of them are exactly what I want. So instead of putting up with something slightly sub-optimal, I'm taking a look at what it takes to develop my own. Being a programmer is great isn't it?

This post was unfortunately never fully finished because of the enshittification of Fitbit in the lead-up to (and following) its acquisition by Google. Fitbit took basic features away from their Sense models and then were sunset entirely in favor of Google’s smartwatch lineup. It was shortly after this post that customizing my Fitbit started getting harder and less worthwhile so I dropped this project and moved off Fitbit for good. To be fair, I did get a watch face mostly working before that point. You can see the code on my GitHub if you’re curious about a useless piece of dead code.
